A festival this small definitely has its advantages; no mile long trek back to the campsite to get a coat when it starts raining, no more than a couple of minutes wait for the surprisingly pleasant portaloos and an all-round communal feel within the arena. The only downside; licensing laws that mean everything must stop at 11pm, leaving the carnival kids feeling like under-agers for going home before midnight. Continue Reading

The Knebworth metal and hard rock extravaganza is a strange one. Two years running it has kicked the living bejesus out of the line-ups of other similar events (yes, Download I am looking at you!), but is somehow not packed with eager metalheads – no other major festival has this much room to move around the site.
